Habitat for Humanity of Sarpy County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
Our Full Mission Statement:
Habitat for Humanity International and the Sarpy County affiliate work in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses, so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God’s love and can live and grow into all that God intends.
Celebrating Our Sixteenth Year
In 1994 a group of concerned Bellevue residents were made aware by the Bellevue Ministerial Association that there was a huge need for decent, affordable housing for economically disadvantaged families. With the support and prayers of volunteers, Habitat for Humanity of Sarpy County became an affiliate of Habitat International in February 1996.
